Exercise Relieves Varicose Veins&Leg Swelling
If you sit or stand for a long time and your ankles become swollen, lie flat on your back, raise your legs and stretch your feet toward the ceiling and breathe deeply. It also helps to circulate any stagnant pooled blood (varicose veins) by using your hands to gently press downwards from ankles to hips. You will feel the blood flowing from your feet and ankles toward your heart.
If you are in a place where you can’t do this, breathe deeply and hold your breath while you alternately rise up on your toes, then down and up on your heels. The deep breathing and muscular action will stimulate circulation, relieve the venous blood congestion and provide relief for aching legs and feet. These are good exercises upon awakening and before bedtime.

It is the king of exercise and when the rhythm of your deep breathing and the rhythm of your stride are in harmony, you feel more vibrant and alive! Practice these breathing exercises faithfully to gain perfect control of your breathing and to become a tireless walker. As the oxygenfilled blood courses through your body, your legs will carry you along buoyantly. Walk tall with your head held high, back straight, chest up, tummy in, arms swinging easily from your shoulders, legs moving as smoothly as though they were attached to the middle of your torso.
Enjoy your walk with a free spirit and a light heart. Start at your own pace to fit the movement – fast, medium, or slow. Watch with interest the things and people you pass, or let your walking be an accompaniment to your ideas and thoughts. As you breathe and walk rhythmically, awareness of your body will diminish. You will become more at peace and in tune with your Mother Earth.
You can truly walk your worries away! As the blood courses through your arteries and veins, cleansing and nourishing your entire body, you become filled with a sense of well-being. This cleanses your mind of its troubles and nourishes it with positive, healthy, happy thoughts.
