rispost Add Wonder-Working Vitamin E

Raw wheat germ (high in vitamin E) perishes easily. That is why it is refined out of white flour. Apparently commercial millers are more interested in the shelf life of their product, than in the length of your life.

In the Bragg household, we often sprinkle raw wheat germ over our raw vegetable salads, potatoes, vegetables, soups, etc. It has a pleasant, nutty taste. If you like the taste of wheat germ oil (some do, some don’t), you will enjoy adding some to your salad dressing. Parents can even add wheat germ oil to the baby’s soy, nut or Rice Dream milk. Hollywood actor Clint Eastwood’s children thrived on wheat germ oil added to their goat’s milk (4 tsp per cup) after they were weaned at one year.

When you are buying bread, be sure to select only whole grain bread. Better yet, bake your own. We try to bake a delicious variety of breads once a week. Try the healthy recipes in the Bragg’s 448 page Gourmet Health Recipe Book.

Another good food source of vitamin E and nutrients is cornmeal mush, made with organic stoneground yellow cornmeal from health stores . . . (not refined, degerminated variety found in commercial food stores).
